Note: The tag <MFACHALLENGEA> in the OFX 2.x specs (.pdf's) is misspelled; it should be <MFACHALLENGEANSWER> to match the schemas. Also note that the OFX 1.0.3 spec and DTD were fixed to use the <MFACHALLENGEANSWER> spelling. The fixed 1.0.3 spec and DTDs can be downloaded now; the .pdf fixes will be available soon.
OFX 2.0.3 is the same as OFX 2.1.1 but without loans and amortization, images, investment closing and Automatic 1-Way download. (It is therefore a smaller spec and more easily perused if the newer features aren’t needed.) Unlike OFX 1.0.3, 401K and Tax are included in OFX 2.0.3. OFX 2.x specifications are also XML (versus SGML) based.
Please find a link above to draft OFX specifications for tax forms 1095A, 1095B and 1095C which are required by the Affordable Care Act. These specs will remain in draft form until the IRS finalizes the forms. Please note: W2 and 1095 forms can be sent together in the same file. The W2 message set must come before the 1095 message set. This is a syntactic rule enforced by the schema.
Please note there has been a change to the representation of the SALECODE tag in the OFX_Tax1099.xsd file. (The .pdf was correct; the .xsd file was incorrect.) This change was posted on 12/10/2014.
Several changes for Tax Year 2014 are found in the 1098 and 1099 Addendum pdf’s in the downloaded zip.
